When Hyrox turns into an incredible family adventure

Hyrox Paris 2025 testimonial

I started by going through the doors of Lagree.

It all started thanks to Léa, my 25-year-old daughter, who has been doing strength training since she started college. Last year, she convinced me to accompany her to Lagree fitness sessions at My Time Coaching.

I must admit that I was reluctant at first. Okay, I run in the morning; it's a real wellness need for me, I can't start my day any other way. But at the time, it was the only sport I did and actually enjoyed!
Weight training? I hate it—or rather, I used to hate it!

As for Lagree, I was quickly won over by the activity. This combination of mental and physical effort, this controlled intensity... it was unlike anything I had ever experienced before.

Even at this stage, I sincerely believe that Alexia and Seb's coaching played a decisive role in my decision to join the MTC studio: I was won over by their support, the pace they set, and above all their ability to motivate us to persevere in our efforts.

The call of Hyrox, with its contagious energy

I finally mastered the Lagree movements, became more comfortable with my practice, and quickly felt more confident.

It's important to note that at My Time Coaching, the Hyrox room is located next to the Lagree room, and the energy emanating from it naturally drew me in

And then Léa, her again, was the catalyst for this amazing Hyrox adventure. She has friends who train and compete in Hyrox competitions. We went to support them at the Hyrox event in Nice, and she suggested that we take part in a women's duo competition.

I accepted. What a joy it was for me to take on such a challenge with my daughter!

A disastrous start before physical and mental progress

So I signed up for Hyrox training classeson Wednesday evenings with Coach Alexia. And the first class was... awful!

At first, I couldn't throw or catch the wallball, which I ended up hitting myself in the face with! It wasn't easy! And I'll spare you the details of the push/pull sled, which I couldn't even move 10 cm!

That's where Alexia proved to be an incredibly skilled coach. Coach Sébastien was also extraordinarily kind. They say hard work pays off, but I would add that I could never have made this athletic effort and competed without them!

My technical progress (because yes, I have improved) has made me realize one essential thing: Hyrox is not just about brute strength, it's also about technique and mental strength.

Analysis of my Hyrox practice in relation to my running habits

As an exclusive morning runner, I had to completely rethink my approach to exercise.

The Hyrox combines running and functional exercises in a way I had never experienced before. This alternation between cardio and functional strength training revealed muscles that I never used during my runs. The 8 kilometers broken up by exercise stations create a different intensity, more complete than my usual morning jogs.

The Hyrox training format at MTC also taught me the value of working in a group. I had always run alone, but during these Wednesday evening sessions, I discovered collective emulation and mutual support. This social dimension completely transformed my view of training.

My rigorous preparation in the joy of being together

My daughter and I prepared rigorously, but always enjoyed being together. Being with my daughter was my driving force. Succeeding for her was my motto!

Otherwise, this preparation also helped me discover aspects of my personality that I didn't know I had: an ability to persevere with technical movements and push my mental and physical limits.

The training sessions became special mother-daughter moments, where we challenged each other while sharing our progress and difficulties.
Seb and Alexia's coaching created an environment where this family bond could flourish while respecting our individual athletic goals.

The Hyrox in Paris, an incredible venue for an equally incredible challenge

It was in January 2025 that we began training with our sights set on the Hyrox Paris competition. We were signed up for April and the competition venue was the Grand Palais

The fact that the Paris Hyrox took place at this incredible site added an extra dimension to this already sublime family adventure with MA Léa, but also with Team MTC.

D-Day at the Grand Palais: much more than just a sporting achievement

The big day arrived. Coaches and friends were there or connected remotely to support us. The competition itself went smoothly and without any major setbacks, but it was mentally and physically demanding.

But I admit that crossing the finish line will remain forever etched in my memory, not only as a mother but also as a woman.

And then, I must mention another source of joy: hearing Seb's encouragement throughout our competition, especially during our last workshop with the famous 100 wall balls, and his recognition of our performance 1 hour and 20 minutes later!
This performance represents much more than a time: it is also the culmination of months of training, personal achievement, and family bonding.

MTC support: much more than just coaching

What strikes me most about My Time Coaching is its ability to create a real team of athletes of all levels who can train and have fun together.

As far as I'm concerned, Alexia and Seb were able to adapt their teaching methods to my specific needs as a runner who was not used to functional exercises, while maintaining a level of expectation that helped me improve.

The atmosphere in the studio, combined with the positive energy that comes from Hyrox sessions, has transformed my view of fitness. From being a solitary runner, I have become partof a supportive sports community where everyone can progress at their own pace while striving for excellence.

My exceeded goals and new challenges

Beyond my initial goals of sharing with my daughter and my personal challenge, Hyrox has opened up new athletic horizons for me. I have gained functional strength, coordination, and above all, confidence in my ability to step outside my comfort zone

This experience also strengthened my bond with my daughter in ways I never could have imagined. We created shared sporting memories that will stay with us for life, far beyond the performance itself.

"I have become a full-fledged Hyrox athlete."

One last confession, the icing on the cake as they say: I'm doing it again at the end of September in Rome, in a mixed doubles team with THE Coach Seb. You can imagine how proud (and scared) I feel!

This new adventure perfectly illustrates how Hyrox and the support of My Time Coaching have broadened my horizons. From being a mother accompanying her daughter, I have become a full-fledged Hyrox athlete, ready to take on new challenges alongside those who have brought me this far.

Thank you to my daughter, thank you to Coach Alexia, thank you to Coach Seb, thank you to MTC, which today has created much more than just a fitness studio: a real sports family where even the wildest dreams come true.
